From  October 28th to November 1st, 2019 two students and their teachers were visiting OBS School De Plantage in Houten (Netherlands)

Our school is participating in a 2 year ErasmusPlus Friendship project to reduce the fear of unknown and prejudice in communication between people from different countries and cultures. How can you do it even better than by creating friendship bonds between children from different countries.

From 28-th of October until 1-rst of November took place first project meeting in the OBS De Plantage in Houten (Netherlands).

From Lindi Elementary School were participating two pupils from 4-th grade, Johannes Jantson (10 y) and Rauno Väljas (10 y) with their teachers Sülvi Kaljurand and Kadri Tamberg.

The boys spent school days with their new classmates there. Rauno and Johannes introduced their home country and school, as well as their families, with a fun slideshow presentation in four different classes, followed by a test of new knowledge with Kahoot. Our boys did a good job of speaking English with their new friends.

For four days our boys got a local family to spend the nights and also time together after school days. It was a great time for them!

We as teachers had a great opportunity to learn more about Dalton system in school of OBS De Plantage and we also visited other local schools where elements of this system were successfully used.

On our last day we had chance to visit miniature Holland in Madurodam and we were kindly invited to be guests at Anton´s home. It was a heartwarming time just before staring our way back home.

It was a wonderful and broadening visit for both boys and teachers. We hope that participating in this project will give our students and their families great experience and also establish good friendships with peers from their school and from abroad.

We are so grateful to all staff  and families of school De Plantage and Anton Verwey for this interesting and well organized week in Netherlands!
