Christmas preparations at Lindi Elementary School (Estonia)
Christmas time is a most beautiful and exciting time of the year. Usually we start to prepare for Christmas already in October with preparations for Christmas play. Children get their parts and they learn dances and songs for the play and festivity party.
But this year we decided to make a surprise for our pupils and make a play only with our staff. So we had to make it in secret from pupils and parents. And in the middle of it we got an idea to make instead of the play a movie. So we had many shooting days and we all enjoyed it very much.
Every class started to decorate their class rooms and all the school house.
Children made Christmas cards and baked gingerbreads.
One day a post man brought us a package from Austria. Children were very excited and happy to get a piece of chocolate from advent calendar. Thank you Karres school! On that morning we watched also presentation sent by School De Plantage about festivity of Sinterklaas. It was very interesting to get to know about this special tradition in Holland.
A week before Christmas holiday our government decided to close all schools because of the spread of Corona virus. So we had to arrange our Christmas celebrations earlier. We had a lovely morning with songs and musical performances and watching together our own Christmas movie. And of course we were visited by Santa Claus himself with presents for everyone.
