FOURTH MOBILITY FROM EL PERALEJO SCHOOL TO GOZO (MALTA)
During October 24 and 29, the fourth mobility test was carried out corresponding Erasmus+ Proyecto AXEP.. This mobility could not be done before due to COVID.
Even so, different activities and experiences were carried out with the limitations of COVID.
Two fifth-grade students ,Daniela and Ruth, participated in this mobility together with two teachers from the school: Nacho (religion teacher), and Mercedes (first and second grade teacher).
October 24
After traveling to Malta and waiting at the airport for more participants, to visit the City of Silence.
At first, the children did not speak. But on the bus, they started to loosen up and little by little they became more familiar. This also happened with the teachers, that we got to know each other little by little.
Once the visit was over, we took the ferry that would take us to Gozo. And already in the hotel of Gozo and once settled we went to dinner and to take a walk around.
October 25
We got up early because at 9:15 h we had to be at the host school. Once we got to Gozo College Gharb Primary (Zebbug – Gozo) all the students welcomed us singing the Hymn of Joy by Miguel Ríos. It was a very emotional welcome!!!
After the recepcion, the students of Erasmus+ Project AXEP: Austria, Estonia, Netherlands, Malta and Spain, made the presentations of the different school and companions.
We did all the activities together with the 5th and 6th grade students of the school through an interactive screen.
Once the presentations were over we had free time in which in the playground we played different games, soccer, battle of genius…It was then that the Erasmus+ children began to interact and play with each other.
Next the teacher Omar Rababa of Sciences did an activity for the children. Through an experiment, we formed teams and we had to solve the problem of dirt in maltese water using different materials.
After eating the student did a kayak activity and visited an inland sea divesite.
After a day full of emotions arrived at the hotel and before dinner we wrote in our diary the places and what we had done during those days.
26 october
The activity scheduled for this day could not be done due to bad weather. Instead we traveled part of the island’s coastline until we reached the so-called Blue Window: a wonder of nature that has been transformed over time due to wind erosion.
In the afternoon, we visited Victoria, we returned to the hotel, we wrote our diary, had dinner and slept.
October 27
After getting up early and having breakfast, we went back to school to make the presentations that had not been possible. After these presentations, Nacho did some game dynamics in their free time so that the children would remember the names of others. This game was also made by the teachers. It was fun!!
Again we went back to a class where a teacher gave us an awareness session about xenophobia. This class ended with a very nice phrase: Every child is a different kind of flower, and all together make this world a beautiful garden. It was a very emotional class !!!!
In the afternoon we visited the Cittadella. After meeting with the city council the local church. It was a day full of learning!!!!!
Dinner, back to the hotel, write the diary and go to sleep.
October 28
We visited the Ggantija Temples Windmill,Victoria and Zebbug. During the visit to the Ggantija Museum, the students did an activity in which they had to imagine how our ancestors were from 5.000 thousand years ago.
October 29
Our last day on this adventure in Gozo, Malta!!!!
In the morning, the school´s physical education teachers gave us some dynamics and games in which the key words were UNITY AND RESPECT.
Then the school principal showed us what a maltese class had been like in the past.
It was very surprising!!
After eating the last meal at school, we went to catch the ferry to Malta.
And the end of the trip arrived, and the farewell arrived, and close ties had been created between the children, and there were hugs, kisses and crying.
After goodbyes, we visited the city of Valletta.
So if the time comes, we take a taxi and meet at the airport to return to Spain.
IT HAS BEEN AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS!!!
THE WELCOME AND ATTENTION RECEIVED BY THE HOST COLLEGE OF GOZO, HAS BEEN EXCEPTIONAL !
WE ARE VERY HAPPY TO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS GREAT ADVENTURE OF ERASMUS+ PROJECT AXEP.
AND THE REFLECTION OF DANIELA AND RUTH HAS BEEN THE FOLLOWING: ENGLISH OPENS DOORS FOR YOU AND THAT IS WHY YOU MEET OTHER COUNTRIES AND OTHER PEOPLE WHO WILL ALREADY BE PART OF YOU
